Bellewood orchards are located in Whatcom County’s fertile valley. We have 47 acres located in Lynden, WA and an additional 15 acres in Ferndale, WA. We nurture over 25,000 semi-dwarf trees, including 22 varieties of apples and pears. We are best known for producing premiere quality Honeycrisp apples, which is a favorite among apple lovers. We also have Washington’s new Cosmic Crisp apples. To learn about all our various varieties, click here.
We’re harvesting over 1.7 million pounds of apples each year and our fruit, and other products, are available in our own Lynden Farmstore and also many local grocery stores such as Haggen and Food Co-ops.
While we are not a Certified Organic. we take great care for the environment being a no-waste and sustainable farm. We are a Certified Salmon Safe farm, as our farm sits along the Ten Mile Creek. To obtain this certification, farmers need to minimize or eliminate their use of harmful chemicals, which prevents any run-off that could negatively impact a salmons habitat. We believe this is the right thing to do and are proud to be responsible stewards of the land. Our apples have been tested by the USDA and are considered 100% chemical free. We are also a GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) farm, which is a growing industry requirement for healthy farming.
We love to share our orchard with the community, so during our normal hours we invite you and your family to walk out to the orchard, observe our farming and enjoy the fresh air. Beginning each Labor Day weekend and going through the month of October, you can enjoying picking your own apples. Learn more about u-pick here. Each year hundreds of children take school tours of our property as they discover where their food comes from.
We hope to see you on the farm.
